Aim: To provide a practical introduction to PWC handling and safety on personal watercraft.

COURSE INFORMATION
This course is a practical course with a short session in the classroom at the beginning of the day.
Successful students will be award the RYA PWC license valid in most countries throughout the world. You will also be given the option of applying for your ICC (International Competency Certificate).
The course will be conducted on your own PWC in most cases. However you can have the option of using one of our PWC’s at an extra charge for the duration of the course.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU ON THE COURSE
- 4 x Passport photographs of yourself and a cheque book.
- Wetsuit or Drysuit. You may wish to hire one of ours at a nominal cost of £25.00 per person for the course duration.
- You must also bring your own buoyancy aid but it must conform to EN 396 and be in good condition.
- Footwear must be worn whilst you are on board your PWC. This must be an appropriate wet boot.
- You also advise a spare change of clothes in case you get wet.
- Up to date copy of your insurance for your PWC.
LUNCH ARRANGEMENTS
The options are:
- Beach Rock Bistro which is located next to the shop (Open Monday to Sunday during peak season and open Friday to Monday off peak season).
- The Reef Bar Public House behind the shop.(Soft drinks only)
- Bring your own pack lunch.

The course will be conducted on a rib, which is a planning boat and the certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.
Duration: Two Day
Times: The course will start at 9.00am with an anticipated finish at around 5.00pm

This Level 1 and 2 course is a practical course with a short session in the classroom at the beginning of the day.
At the end of the course you may wish to purchase either The RYA Powerboat logbook, or the Powerboat Practical Course Notes. Both will be available from your Instructor.

Aim: To teach powerboating up to the standard required to complete a short coastal passage by day.
Duration: Two Day
Times: The course will start at 9.00am with an anticipated finish at around 5.00pm
Location: North Norfolk Coast – Sea Palling
COURSE INFORMATION
The intermediate course is a practical course, however due to the navigation skills that need to be taught we must spend half of the first day and a small amount of the second day in the classroom.
At Beach Rock Leisure the culmination of the course is that each student will be responsible for the navigation and safe passage of the vessel during their own section of a journey.
PRE COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Students should be competent to the standard of Level 2 National Powerboat Certificate.
- It is recommended that students hold a First Aid Certificate and VHF Operators Certificate. The VHF Operators Certificates can also be done through Beach Rock Leisure, please select the option on the Booking Form for further information.
- Please be aware that poor boat handling skills and inadequate knowledge is not an option. If you feel you have areas of weakness please contact us.

Aim: To teach boat handling, seamanship and navigation up to the standards required to drive a planning powerboat safely by day and night in tidal coastal waters with which the candidate may be familiar.
Duration: Two Day
Times: The course will start at 8.30 am with an anticipated finish at around 12.00 am
Location: North Norfolk Coast – Sea Palling
COURSE INFORMATION
The Advanced course is a practical course, with a small amount of classroom work.
At Beach Rock Leisure the culmination of the course is that each student will be responsible for the navigation and safe passage of the vessel during their own section of journey by day and night (weather permitting). Finding lit and unlit markings.
After completing the course the successful candidates will be award the Advanced Course Completion Certificate.
PRE COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates should be competent to the standard of the Intermediate Powerboat Certificate with a thorough knowledge of navigation and chartwork to the level of Dayskipper shorebased.
- You are required to hold a First Aid Certificate and VHF Operators Certificate. The VHF Operators Certificates can also be done through Beach Rock Leisure, please select the option on the Booking Form for further information.
- Please be aware that poor boat handling skills and inadequate knowledge is not an option. This course will be about teaching you advanced navigation by night. If you feel you have areas of weakness please contact us.
